the laptop broke but still under warranty, it was replaced, but of course windows 7(64bit) was out and had no choice due to laptops all being bloody pre installed with OS. Check This Out I just checked under device manager (Windows 10) and the firewire driver I have installed is from Microsoft (2006) on a VIA 1394 OCHI Compliant Host Controller. So will see what happens in future days. When a client driver uses the new 1394 bus driver, they must make sure that the data accessed in NODE_DEVICE_EXTENSION is valid.
